Gresford Athletic have today completed the signing of Tom Jenkins on loan from Wrexham until the end of the 2022/23 season.
This is the club's third signing of the 2022/23 January transfer window.
Tom first signed for Wrexham at Under 9s level in 2011 and has been at the club ever since.
The young midfielder has risen through the ranks at Wrexham, playing in their youth teams and eventually being named Wrexham Youth Team Captain in 2020, before signing his first professional contract with the club in November 2021.
The 19-year-old has had some experience with the Wrexham First Team squad and was included in their 2022/23 Pre-Season games, playing against LaLiga SmartBank side Leganes and Nottingham Forest U21s.
He has now made the move to Gresford Athletic on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season to have his first experience in playing in the JD Cymru Leagues.
Gresford Athletic First Team Assistant Manager Jonathan Hill-Dunt says that he has been a keen admirer of Tom for a while:
"We are delighted to sign Tom on loan.
Firstly, thank you to Dan Nolan at Wrexham for trusting us with Tom's development.
I first saw Tom play 18 months ago and I have been a keen admirer since.
He trained really well last night and we are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the squad."
Tom will be available to make his Gresford Athletic debut during tomorrow's game at home against Penybont in round four of the 2022/23 JD Welsh Cup.
Welcome to the club, Tom!
