Peter Moore has become Gresford Athletic honourary president

Peter Moore has today become Gresford Athletic honourary president.

He was born in Liverpool and has supported Liverpool since he was four years old, meaning football has always been a big part of his life. He previously played as a right back for Gresford Athletic during the 1960s and 1970s in both the youth team and first team.

At the age of 25, he moved to the United States of America to be a football coach after earning his bachelor’s degree at Keele University. Here, he started working for the USA subsidiary of the sportswear brand Patrick, spending 11 years there. He then moved onto working for Reebok, where he specialised in football, for just under a decade.

After his time at Reebok, Peter moved into the gaming industry, joining Sega and quickly rising through the ranks, becoming the president and chief operations officer of Sega of America. In 2003, he left Sega and joined Microsoft, where he was involved in the development and release of the Xbox, until he joined Electronic Arts in 2007, where he was appointed as the head of EA Sports, until he became the chief operating officer and chief competition officer at the company in 2011 and 2015 respectively.

He left the gaming industry in 2017 to become the chief executive officer of Liverpool, overseeing fantastic success over three years, until he left the club in the summer of 2020. During his time at Liverpool, the club won the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League, the 2019 UEFA Super Cup, the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2019/20 Premier League title.

Peter joining the club as honourary president is huge for the club, as he has had a fantastic career at the top of the gaming and football world and to have his experience and knowledge at the top of the club is extremely exciting.

Welcome to the club, Peter!
