We are delighted to announce that Gresford Athletic have today completed the signing of Greg Evans.
This is the ninth signing that Gresford Athletic have made during the 2022/23 summer transfer window.
The midfielder started his career as a youth player at Llay United in 2009 and then signed for Borras Park Albion for the 2012/13 season.
He then moved to 14-time JD Cymru Premier Champions The New Saints in 2013, before signing for Lex XI for the 2014/15 season and then returning to The New Saints until 2016.
The 24-year-old then flew abroad to join Carson-Newman University in Tennessee, USA in ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Alongside his education, Greg went onto become Carson-Newman University captain and also break the record for the most minutes played in Carson-Newman University history in October 2021, making 73 appearances, with 6014 minutes played at the time.
Gresford Athletic First Team Assistant Manager Jonathan Hill-Dunt says that Greg impressed the coaching staff instantly:
"Greg joined us midway through pre-season and impressed us straight away.
He's returning to America to finish his studies shortly, but we look forward to working more with him on his return."
